SCHOLARSHIP CAMPAIGN
$25,000 can ensure every boy experiences Kawanhee
Every dollar given to our scholarship campaign is matched, up to $12,500.
At Camp Kawanhee, boys build lifelong friendships, confidence, and resilience in the Appalachian Mountains and on Webb Lake. For many families, full tuition is out of reach – but with your support, we can bridge that gap through scholarships.
This year, the George and Raymond Frank Foundation is launching its annual scholarship campaign with a goal of $25,000. Thanks to a generous matching commitment, the first $12,500 of gifts will be matched dollar‑for‑dollar, effectively doubling their impact. Your gift will fund full sessions, adventure trips, and life‑skills programs like sailing and woodworking.
What your gift will do:
- $500: Helps a boy summit Mt Katahdin.
- $1,000: Allows a camper to extend his summer 1 more week.
- $2,500+: Fund a boy for three or more weeks across multiple summers.

Camp Kawanhee for Boys has been a key part of the last three years of my life. This bond I share with this place goes all the way back to the summer of 2023, when it was my first summer at camp. This place has brought me nothing but joy and excitement since I attended. I felt like I had a second home the second I arrived. Every camper, counselor, director, and nurse has shown me steadfast love that will endure forever in my heart. I always look forward to seeing all the new faces because it allows me to become a leader and a shoulder to lean on. Camp has helped me become a better person and big brother as I try to give the younger campers the wonderful experience I had. It has also allowed me to explore new things and not seclude myself from others’ ideas and opportunities. All these positives and you would think camp could not get much better, but this isn’t even the start. The best experience you can get at Camp Kawanhee is the amazing fishing trips that are offered, and the sailing. Steve Yale and Kevin Bonasera lead the fishing department, and they are two of the nicest people I have met while at camp. Steve and Kevin have taken me on fishing trips on their boats, and it was honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had. I was able to bring some of my other camp friends with me, and it was amazing. These two men have shown me nothing but respect, and it has made my camp experience even better. Sailing is equally important to me. When I arrived at camp last summer, the first thing I wanted to do was sail. Once I learned how to sail, I never stopped. I would go out every chance I got, every day of the summer until the season was over. I taught other campers and counselors how to sail, and it was a highlight of my time there. This time did not go unnoticed, as I was awarded the Sailor of the Year award, and it made my experience complete. Camp Kawanhee for Boys is more than a camp to me; it is a second home to me, where I can truly explore new things and grow as a leader.
